In this realm, nothing is as it seems when materials become nothing, and people shed their skin by night.
After years of living as a lesser people, the mortals have finally gained control of the Kingdom of Aldcrest: now known as the Realm of Night. Enslaving those with higher abilities, they are slowly ascending in power. Now on top, they have no need for these people, and they are taking fewer and fewer prisoners.
In a distopian society the war continues to rage within the walls. As other Kingdoms dominated by both magical and mortal blood plan their invasion, who knows how long Aldcrest where last where it's at?
Surrounding the borders of Aldcrest is the dreaded No Man's Land, where many a magical creatures have been exiled to. Few men have traveled through these passes and lived to tell the tale. Those who have, were never the same, and slowly the horrors are seeping into the walls. Double spies, triple spies, and power thirsty traitors of every sort run amuck.
Those creatures of more intelligent mindsets masquerade as mortals on a daily basis. Creatures who continue to strengthen their numbers, and diminish that of their enemy. Vampires, Werewolves, and everything that goes bump in the night hides within the shadows and within your homes in the Realm of Night. Valentina, the Vampiress who rules the underground catacombs sits upon the dark throne, slowly gathering her soldiers and strengthening the Council. Can she and her comrades truly bring back the Realm of Night beneath their rein?
The mortals, finally free of the fear which had always hung in a dark cloud over their kingdom, are finally in charge of their own fates. With the bravest soldier sitting upon the throne, and the numbers of the beasts dropping, hope is finally shining. However, a strange force has erupted from somewhere within the fortress walls, and their enemies are gaining in numbers. King Rowan rules with an iron fist over his Kingdom, and he fears that it's slipping through his fingers. His wayward son Garrett has no wish to have any affiliation with the throne, or with his bride to be. Can they win the second round, when they can't even stay together?
